WABG Annual Reception.
On
9th
September
we
held
our
Annual
Reception
on
the
Terrace
of
the
House
of
Commons.
Around
25
African
countries
(almost
half
the
entire
continent)
were
represented,
and
was
attended
by
other
businesses,
politicians
and
charities.
We
heard
speeches
from
Dame
Harriet
Baldwin
DBE
MP,
who
is
the
Shadow
International
Development
Minister,
and
representatives
of
financial
establishments
in Zimbabwe.
We
were
very
grateful
for
the
kind
sponsorship
of
the
event
provided
by
one
of
our
Vice
Chairmen,
Korab
Toplica,
on
behalf
of
his
company
Mabetex.
This
very
well
attended
event
was
generally
considered
to
be
very
worthwhile
and
we
hope
to
gain some new members from those who attended.

UK Africa Business Summit
On
6th
September
I
attended
the
UK
Africa
Business
Summit
in
London.
This
focused
mainly
on
Uganda,
but
other
countries
from
East
Africa
were
covered.
It
was
a
very
useful
networking
event.
